Band Booster Officers and Executive Board Member Duties

Booster Officers
The President shall preside over Chapter and Executive Board Members, appoint committees and other duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this organization. The President of the MHS Band and Guard Boosters serves as a member of the RRISD Band Booster Concession Operation Board (usually just called “COB”) comprised of the Presidents and Concessionaires from each of the RRISD High Schools’ Band Booster organizations. The President of the MHS Band and Guard Boosters may serve as the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Concessionaire or Equipment Manager of COB. (Year round)
The Vice-President shall preside as president, in his or her absence, coordinate activities among various committees, act as liaison on all high school activities, and other duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this organization. (Year round)
The Secretary shall communicate meeting notices, keep an accurate record of Chapter and/or Executive Board Meetings, display minutes in band hall, and other duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this organization. (Year round)
The Treasurer shall act as custodian of the chapter funds, collect dues when assessed, maintain financial records, invest funds, submit reports as requested and other duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this organization. (Year round)
The Concessionaire shall purchase, store and distribute supplies necessary to operate the concession stands, work with stand managers, organize volunteer workers to ensure successful concession operations, and other duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this organization. The Concessionaire of the MHS Band and Guard Boosters serves as a member of the RRISD Band Booster Concession Operation Board (usually just called “COB”) comprised of the Presidents and Concessionaires from each of the RRISD High Schools’ Band Booster organizations. Executive Board Positions
Middle School (Cedar Valley and Deerpark) Liaisons: Helps communicate between the Middle school directors and the Booster Club. Each of these Middle schools’ band students feed into McNeil so there is a position for EACH school. (Year round)
Concession Stand Managers:

Freshmen
Junior Varsity
Varsity – Home South
Varsity – Home North
Varsity – Visitors
These positions work under the “umbrella” of the Concessionaire (see description of “Officers” above). McNeil band boosters provide volunteers to run the concession stands for Deerpark, Cedar Valley, Freshman, JV and Varsity football games. The stand manager oversees the volunteers and works with the concessionaire to ensure a safe, clean and profitable concession stand!
Chaperone Representative: Coordinates to ensure the correct ratio of students to chaperones for all trips, competitions and other events as designated by the directors. (Primarily Fall)
All chaperones must pass a Criminal Background Check performed by RRISD before chaperoning any band event. Individuals who wish to serve as chaperones MUST request to be considered and complete the necessary Criminal Background Check during August before the school year begins.

Communications Representative: Sends out all information as needed by the officers and board and works in conjunction with the directors and all board positions to keep all boosters abreast of upcoming events and needs in the booster organization. (Year round)
Game Day Meal Representative: Orders and coordinates serving of meals and/or snacks to the students before football games and competitions. (Primarily Fall)
HEB Card Representative: Coordinates efforts of the neighborhood reps who sell HEB gift cards as a fundraiser and coordinates with the Treasurer. (Year round)
Historian: Documents the events of the school year through different media. (Year round)
Nominating Committee Representative: Leads a committee to enlist booster members to serve for the next school year. (Primarily Spring)
Merchandise Sales Representative: Handles sales of items offered by the Band Booster organization and keeps inventory of Band Booster merchandise. Makes recommendations to the Board for merchandise purchases. (Year round)
Parliamentarian: Ensures that all parliamentary procedures and by-law s are being followed at booster meetings. (Year round)
Pit Crew Representative: Coordinates volunteers involving the “pit” (the percussion equipment on the sidelines during football games and competitions). (Primarily Fall)
Scholarship Committee Representative: Leads a committee that reviews applications from Cedar Valley and Deerpark for potential scholarships to summer band camps. (Primarily Spring)
Trip Coordinator: Works with the directors to plan the annual Spring Trip. (Year round)
Volunteer Coordinator: Records and keeps track of all volunteer hours worked by booster members. (Year round)
Water Committee Representative: Coordinates volunteers to ensure that students have water available at all football games and competition (includes purchasing, loading and distribution at the games). (Primarily Fall)
