McNeil Band Everything Day, This Saturday 5/7… and other upcoming things

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since we have been able to have our Everything Day in person and we are excited to see all of you on Saturday. It is crucial we see everyone who will be in the program next year. Parents are needed to complete the registration process, and students are needed to choose their catered meals and choose shoe, glove, and compression shirt sizes.

This will occur in the McNeil Band Hall and you will use the main entrance at the front of the school. See the attached map for where to park.

You will visit the following stations:

  • Parent/ Student Information (to answer your questions about the band program)

  • Registration (for those who do not fill it out ahead of time)

  • Merchandise

  • Volunteering

  • Game Day and Contest Day Meals

  • Uniforms (choose sizes of some uniform items)

  • Payment (for those parents who do not complete it beforehand)

As you can see, we will cover lots of aspects of joining the band program. Just about "everything" we can think of for now.

Here is when you should plan to be at McNeil (look for your NEXT YEAR'S class):

9:00 Seniors

9:30 Juniors

10:30 Sophomores

11:30 Freshmen

Families with siblings can bring both (or all three...gulp) at the same time, whichever is the most convenient for you.

You can expedite your visit by completing THIS REGISTRATION FORM before Saturday on a laptop or desktop.

______________

All current and incoming McNeil Band members are invited to participate in our pep band at the McNeil Spring Football Game on May 19th. Wewill have after-school rehearsals on the 16th and 17th to prepare a list of songs to play. We have never done this before and I expect our students to have a blast! Incoming freshmen, I hope you can join us so you can get a taste of why football games are a favorite among our students. Please fill out this INTEREST FORM if you want to join so we can know how many students to expect.

IMPORTANT: All marching band members are required to have an RRISD physical examination form on file with me before they participate in the summer. These forms are good for two years once they start high school. Our athletic trainers are organizing a date when you can come to get your physical on campus for $15! The date I have heard is May 20th, but I will let you know once I hear something else. You can download this official physical form to be filled out by a physician.

Sincerely,

Jason Dimiceli
