Hello everyone,

This is email is a follow up to the weekly announcements regarding the KVUE Day Break. Every Friday KVUE chooses a school of the week where they go live on the air during several segments of their early morning show. Well, McNeil is the school of the week this week!

They will show the band, cheerleaders, dance team, and other groups there...much like a pep rally atmosphere. They will also interview admin, faculty, and students. The purpose is to show school spirit and pride and it will be a lot of fun!

Our call time will be...ahem....4:15 in the morning so we can warm up and be in place by 4:45. I lobbied to get this on a day we do not have a football game so students can go home after school and rest.

We need to have a decent representation, so Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and drumline students are required to attend. Those band classes will have a rest period on Friday. Symphonic Band and Front Ensemble students are invited and encouraged to come, and Mr. McCarthy will communicate to the guard (although it sure would look great to have our championship guard there).

Ms. Johnson will provide donuts to all students participating, so I’ll need ton know exactly who will attend. We will get a headcount in our classes on Monday and Tuesday.

I know this is an early morning, but it should be a great time showing central Texas how great of a place we have here at McNeil. Plus, there will be hundreds of other students there showing their school spirit and the band should lead that charge.
